Any Dave Dawson readers out there?

Just curious if any of the forum members read any of the Dave Dawson War Adventur Series by R. Sidney Bowen? As a kid I remeber reading the adventures of Dave Dawson and Freddy Farmer in their missions against the Axis forces. Of course the books gave a fairly unrealistic view of the performance of certain aircraft during WWII, but they were fun reading. Another fun series was the Yankee Flyer books by Al Avery.

Not good, starting to feel old here. Yep these books were published in 1941/1942 time period. They were passed on to me by my father when I was a jungster.

I remember them well---especially when Dave and his English pal, Freddy Farmer, were at Dunkirk, Africa, Russia and, I believe, at Singapore---or somewhere else in the Pacitic war zones following Pearl Harbor.

Well that would pretty much clues me in to why you know so much on some of the more obscure WWII aircraft. It seems that is all that Dave and Freddy ever flew in, especially the two seaters. I still have copies of Dave Dawson at Dunkirk, Dave Dawson with the RAF,Dave Dawson in Lybia, Dave Dawson on Convoy Patrol, Dave Dawson Flight LieutenantDave, Dawson at Singapore, Dave Dawson with the Pacific Fleet, Dave Dawson with the Arm Air Corps, Dave Dawson on the Russian Front, Dave Dawson with the Commandos, and Dave Dawson with the Flying Tigers. I really enjoyed reading these as a kid. I also have Yankee Flyer over Berlin and Yankee Flyer on a Rescue Mission.

Re: Any Dave Dawson readers out there?

I fondly remember reading these and am happy to have the author and some titles in case I want to search for a few.
