The boy at work with me

Since there was some positive feedback, I thought I'd share a few pics. You'll notice Patrick has orders that make it so he outranks me by one grade. Its an Honorary title given by the Bn CSM, he is sort of the Bn / Co mascot. He has seen two brothers go through the Infantry Officers Basic Course ( roughly 280 2Lts-1Lts, foriegn officers as well). Spot checks them during weapons maintenance, the little fingers find carbon everywhere. He has shot the M4, M16A2, M24 sniper rifle, M249, M240, Bradley coax MG ( they ran out of 25mm by the time he got up to it). He has 16 jumps from the 34' mock tower used at the US Army Jump School. He is living the life I wished I could have at his age.

He has fired everything listed below. We have a demonstration range monthly for the pre-command course. Afterward the folks in the crowd get to go into the pits and shoot (static range). So thats where he gets his trigger time. I can't take him to my ranges since there is too many moving parts. But most non hostile events he can jion us, land nav etc...
As for his future in the military. We have to fix his heart condition first, then he can if he wants to. I wont be the Army dad that says he has to jion. But he does want to be a tanker.

Re: The boy at work with me

Now theres a young man to be proud of Shawn.

Whatever his future holds, with the kind of upbringing you are giving him I am sure he will do well.
He is a tough little chap and I certain that he will overcome his problem.

God Bless America.
