Tonkin Replicas?

Anyone have one of these or know about 'em -- I just stumbled on it and never heard of it. Descriptions say 1:72 but a quick interent search seems to indicate 1:87 maybe the scale?

Angry Re: Tonkin Replicas?

Hi, I bought the P-51 Mustang 1/72 scale "VF-T" It's got a horribly sloppy assembly job. The parts just don't fit well in a number of areas. The paint finish with the pad printed details are not well done. Not sufficient paint and noticble bleed through. The canopy frame is not painted. The panel lines are kind of wide and deep. So, my recommendtion is to avoid it like it had the plague. I'm ready to hide in my basement and hope the B-17 I ordered from them does not really show up. Now that I've seen the P-51 I'm afraid of how many places they could screw the B-17 up.

Re: Tonkin Replicas?

wow, sorry to hear that! The pics of the B-17 on ebay do not look promising (check out the turrets)

Where did you order from -- does the site have pics and info on teh full range, I'm merely curious at this point. After you're warning I'm not anxious to add any to the stable at the moment...
