Talking Re: Rare 'Jenny' Stamp

I'm sure I saw one of those in one of my USA albums....or was it an old Imperial ? Hmmmmm!

I'm sure that most of you guys know that this, the rarest of USA errors, is one of the stamps taken from one complete sheet which just happened to be bought by a collector when the stamp was issued. The clerk issuing the sheet became interested in the puchaser's excitement and his enquiry if there were any more like it. The clerk's boss arrived on the scene and demanded the sheet of stamps back because it was not perfect.

After much argument the buyer got to keep the sheet and sold it intact to a dealer, who promptly sold it on to a well-known rich collector. He kept several single stamps, the corner control block and sold the rest on.....

The rest is history.

Keep watching out for errors !
