Louie, I'd LOVE to see that "other" one, but I believe your thinking of a very short film that was just made to test a new camera. It looked great, though.

How about "The Dambusters" when is it due on the big screen?

Cool Re: New War Movies Coming Out

Be careful what you wish for, Louie. The next anti-American flic may be directed by Babs Streisand, staring Sean Penn, and produced by Hugo Chavez. You know, crazed A-10 whacos shooting up the U.N building, causing the U.N to lose its ability to protect the universe, and allowing George S. Patton's ghost to call in additional air strikes. Unfortunately,, Gen. Patton realizes too late that all he's got to destroy the world and the ACLU, is a bunch of semi-rusted P-51s rescued from Davis-Monthan. Enter Sean with some USSR, courtesy Tsar Putin, MiG-29s. THE WORLD IS SAVED
Hey, let's get a piece of the action and make a few bucks.

Re: New War Movies Coming Out

Oh I think GSP's ghost would level the UN, make PETA members work in a slaughter house, destroy the ACLU all in some rescued Sherman from J. Littlefield's collection. Then turn Sean Penn into his boot polishing monkey, and Babs is forced out of retirement to sing for FREE in some Red Roof Inn.

Don't forget Susan Saranwrap and Danny Glover! I liked that WW1 trailer showing the ground battles and Zepplins and bi-planes etc can't believe it was just a short little flick.

Hey, let's get a piece of the action and make a few bucks.

That's funny you say that. The guy who plays "Billy Jack" is looking for investors for his new film. If you wanna take a chance on making a buck, here's the link:

Re: New War Movies Coming Out

I will see "The Red Baron" when it hits theaters in 2008 simply because I like action movies especially when they feature airplanes. Unfortunately the more I hear about this project the more I wish someone else was making

From what I have read the plot has Richthofen doing his ace things shooting down planes and socializing with his squadron mates then comes kate, a pretty young nurse ala "Pearl Harbor". Kate makes Richthofen realize he is a propaganda tool which makes him question his role in the military and his view of the war.

The film also portrays the Baron being killed by Canadian pilot Roy Brown rather than the widely accepted theory that ground troops shot him down It appears this decision was made as a plot device since Richthofen needed to have a opponent.

The need for a nemesis & love interest at the expense of authenticity are simply to allow the film to fit into the typical Hollywood formula is seen as necessary to be commercial successful.

This film is a sharp departure for European movies about members of the German military; it tries to glorify the man while still showing the horror of war. The movie does not seem to want to talk about the politics of the war just the “universal truth or war”.

The film is set to premiere in Germany on February 14th 2008.

Gee will they have Herman Goering before he was into make-up, and pink and baby blue uniforms? Sound slike I can wait for it to come out on DVD, then watch with the sound off.
