And you just stumbled into the bar to see the Scorpions? This sounds like something from a Hunter S. Thompson novel!

Re: Who would go see Led Zeppelin if they decide to tour?

He's right. I saw them a couple of years ago. They got all 50 people in the hotel bar to hold their lighters in the air...

Was the little frontman still wearing some stupid cap (to disguise the fact he is all bald on top), with curly little locks flowing out from underneath? Aren't these guys about as old as Jimmy, Robert, John Paul, and Bonham's son? What a sight that would be... late 50's rockers in spandex and leather.

BTW, Skunky, your letter was REALLY funny. It took some time to regain my compusure after a hearty laugh.

I saw them in concert in 1982, before they had furry guitars. Does this count?

Well, it's like this- Delaware is the First State. Kind of like a prototype. And, like the first of anything, that's the one that has all the problems. You learn from it so that all the ones that follow won't be as hosed up.
Also, the drivers up here SUCK- yield signs and stop signs are just suggestions, not actual laws.
Common courtesy on the roads and in other public places is a rare commodity.
Dover's tap water ain't fit to drink.
Dover is a small town, but it has three police departments.
Every town along Route 13 is a speed trap.
Too many Flyers and Eagles fans around here.

On the bright side, Delaware's a small state- you can drive through it pretty quick. And, it's pretty convenient to places that are worth going to - Philly, NYC, DC, etc (if you can deal with I-95).
Also, Dover has, I believe, the highest number of Dunkin' Donuts per capita than any other place in the USA. Good for the coffee addiction!

Anyway, that's about it. Delaware just ain't that exciting. I've been up here on long orders for quite a while now, and will probably get those renewed sometime after the new year. If anything exciting happens up here, I'll be able to let you know!

That explains the family-like atmosphere that's generated in this place...

Reminds me of the time I was at this club in Dallas back in the '80s. We were there to see a band called Mary's Danish and the Red Hot Chili Peppers were playing the Bronco Bowl on the same night. Flea and the boys showed up at the club after their concert and threw the other band off the stage, took over their instruments, and proceeded to play a song or two before we realized it was a hoax and the Chilis were friends of the other band. The Chilis ended up jamming with Mary's Danish for the rest of the night. That was pretty cool...back when the Chilis were raw.

Purist.

As long as they played Jesus Just Left Chicago, I wouldn't care if they shaved them beards.....
