Red face Re: Your #1 pick for WWII Light Bomber

I do not like to collect very big models, so I would stick to single engine aircraft.

If you are kind enough to regard the Fairey Swordfish as a "bomber" then I would have that as my #1 choice.
Otherwise, the Curtiss Helldiver

Either one in 1:48

On the evening update I will put you down for one Swordfish in 1/48th scale( Would look pretty good in 1/48th scale.).

Thumbs up Re: Your #1 pick for WWII Light Bomber

Ohhhh this is NOT easy -- Urrrgghh!

OK -- after a lot of struggle between some other very worthy and un-modeled diecast candidates in this category, I am going to answer your question
"Basically this thread is wish list, sort of like saying you had the call on the next diecast medium bomber made, what would you pick."
with:

1:72 -- RAF -- Bristol Blenheim Mk I

Also a nice looking late 30s bomber with lots of 'greenhouse' glass for potential extra interior detail plus it was in service with quite a few during its life. Great looking kite, but a dismal performer in reality. We may see this one one day soon, as apparently Corgi's Mk IV can be swapped out for a Mk I version -- or so I am told!

A 1/48 scale Swordfish done to the standard of Corgi's 1/72 scale version would truly be something to behold .

Re: Your #1 pick for WWII Light Bomber

I'll go with the Aichi D3A "Val" in markings for the Pearl Harbor attack, in 1/72 scale. We definitely need more Japanese planes.

Sounds good to me.
