Hhmm, so you don't like S&W then? Just the semi-autos? I have 2 4" N-frames, the M28 and M29. I quite like them. Don't fancy their pistols though.

Wow...someone who actually knows the difference between a pistol and a revolver. I bow to your knowledge, oh Guru of Gunpowder....

Actually, I very much like, and own several, S&W revolvers.....I just have a problem with certain corporate decisions made by the owners of said company back in the '90s. My S&Ws were purchased back in the '80s, before the company betrayed those of us who actually believe in the 2nd Amendment and entered into a certain agreement with Billary & Co.

I know, I know...S&W is under new management....but when you get to be my age, memories are loooong.....

I can't think of any S&W that I'd own or use as a wheel block. Nope, don't like them at all. And I too recall the 2nd Ammendment sell out of the 90s. I prefer my wheel guns to click C-O-L-T as I cock the hammer.

Haven't bought a S&W since they did that...and I do love my Colts...wheel guns and autos both. Python is the ultimate wheel gun (IMHO)....

The golden fittings sure are purty, and would look right at home being worn by a pimp with any shred of street cred......

(BTW, I have a pre-war Mauser Luger with "strawed" small parts, so I'm just razzin' ya a bit on that one.)

But the 360 degree drag marks on the cylinder tell me the cylinder bolt timing is off on that particular weapon.....

Re: Quiz: Can you Name This Weapon?

Is it a 454 Casull?

Re: Quiz: Can you Name This Weapon?

I can't tell from the pic. It could be a .460 or a .50 if it is a big boomer. But having a double action revolver chambered for 454 Cassull is about as worthless as t**s on a mule. That's why Freedom Arms makes their revolvers that are chambered in .454 Cassull single action only.

Anyway, the comment about Python being the ultimate wheel gun was directed towards the quality of workmanship, not the power of the load. Pythons are as precise as clockwork, and the two I have do not have any drag marks on the cylinder. Drag marks and S&W seem to go hand in hand, unfortunately.....
