Re: Quiz: Can you Name This Weapon?

Why full auto only? Either way I'd take it. Too much history to pass up with that one.

Here civilians aren't allowed to own select fire or automatic weapons. Even semi-auto rifles are a stretch. I don't believe the BAR has a selector switch. Full auto only. Relatively slow rate of fire though. A good few years ago a civilian one was developed in the States but it cost a small fortune.

Smile Re: Quiz: Can you Name This Weapon?

Had a great afternoon at the range today. Took a colleague to an open day at the range and had the opportunity to use the M1 Carbine, LM4, AK47, G3, FAL. There was an AR15 but it wasn't fully functional. Now I feel like getting back into the game.

Mauser 1896,looks like it has a removable mag which makes it a Chinese issue one,Winston Churchill special.

Close enough. Actually Mauser redesigned this one in 1932 for the Chinese Army. It goes under various designations, Mauser Machine Pistol 1932 being one of them. These were used in lots of movies by leering Japanese officers, nasty Chinese war lords and the like.

Here's a contemporary of the Mauser machine pistol.

Re: Quiz: Can you Name This Weapon?

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, who can ID this one?

One of Gordon Ingrams first the M6, I have fired the M11 (a real one not a semi pistol) interesting is the word I would use.

Correct. Looks like the Finns beat the Russkies in the quest for a good burb gun.
