Deltolf Question

I'm thinking about driving 4 hours to the closest IKEA to pick up 2 or 3 deltolfs this weekend. According to the website it says they are 163 cm or about 5 feet, that seems unsually short just because of the pictures am I converting that right? Also I assume you can stick at least 2 1:48 WWII era fighters on one shelf? Any other comments would be appreciated before I make the drive. Thanks!

Close enough measured mine:

Pic below shows 1/72 Avro Arrow and Lanc with a Vulcan
Have other shelves with Lanc and Wellington and some fighters

Re: Deltolf Question

While IKEA usually has these in stock this time of year I'd call ahead before I drove 4 hours to get them. Doubly so if you have a strong color preference.

Yeah I was going to do that before I headed up because I would be beyond mad at myself to come back empty handed since I'm having to do some serious moving and storing of stuff to make space. I figured I couldnt be too picky about that either as long as I can get them all in the same color

I have 60 planes in one Detolf.

You can fit 3 1/48 WW2 fighter birds on one shelf easy.
Or one Gmp P40 1/35 and 6 1/72 P40s on one shelf.
I wish I had more space for another Detolf!

There is a nice little space in the lounge that would take a Detolf, but when I suggested it, Boy was I shot down in flames by er indoors!

She mentioned something about diecast taking over the house, now I dont see a problem with that but unfortunately she does, (and she is bigger than me).

God Bless America.

Re: Deltolf Question

Haha I feel your pain you can never have too much space. I feel very fortuneate that my girlfriend at least tolerates the collection I have (well she puts up with me too so I guess that makes her a saint) But if we end up living together I hope that doesn't change
