| On 11/28/2007 I was in Palm Springs, CA, and got an unexpected gift. The Air Museum has a P-63 Kingcobra, (Pretty Polly), and on the 28th it rolled it out, warmed it up and did four fast, low runs across the airstrip. That Allison never sounded better! When I was a lad I always thought the P-39 was a great warplane. I learned later that it was not a great performer and it took the Soviets to turn it into an effective weapon. I got some pix but since I was caught with my lens cap on, so to speak, they're not of much value. BTW, that's a fine air museum. | |||||||||||||

| Re: To Fly Again - P-63 Kingcobra Nice to see a P-63 flying. I have a soft spot in my heart for the P-39/63; it was the first plastic model airplane I built as a boy. | |||||||||||||
