Recommendable TV-Series?

I like to watch US TV-Series on DVD. Therefore I am searching for series you might recommend.

As an example of my taste, I like these:

The Unit
Stargate
24
Alias
The Dead Zone

So what am I missing out there?

THX in advance!

Re: Recommendable TV-Series?

Another recommendation for Farscape an excellent series IMHO, and you soon forget that Rygel is a puppet!. Also Babylon 5. It starts off a bit slow with most episodes being self contained 'episode of the week' stuff, but once you get into the second season it develops an intriguing story arc and the characters have a lot of depth to them.

Thanks!

Galactica is a good idea. I like Sci-Fi. Currently I am watching Stargate Atlantis Season 3. Very cool!

Farscape? I think it ran on German TV a while back. I prefer to watch it in english anyway...

Babylon 5 I watched for a long time. Not bad I have to admit.

Re: Recommendable TV-Series?

I am a fan of House, 24, How I met your mother, and a few others. Don't forget the classics like Airwolf, Knight rider, and of course M*A*S*H

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Recommendable TV-Series?

If you want really good Sci-Fi, find the series "FIREFLY". It was a short-lived series by the creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel". There were only about a dozen episodes (2 or so that never even aired), since FOX cancelled it. But the show was great and it led to the movie "Serenity" that came out after the series was cancelled. The show has an almost rugged, old west feel even though its set in future outer space. It's way cool with great writing. Highly Recommended. You'll notice my current quote is from the movie "Serenity".

Combat is an excellent show. I have the entire dvd set.
Another good show is Tour of Duty. Similar to Combat but set during the Vietnam war.
