Gilligan's Island

question: If the professor was so danged smart and could build all the stuff that he did out of salvaged parts and raw materials from the island, how come he couldn't figure out how to patch up a stupid boat?....

Two Reasons........ 1) Ginger 2) MaryAnn, so I think the old professor was pretty dang smart afterall there Skunky I don't think I would want to be rescued either in that situation would you?

Trapped on an island with Ginger and MaryAnn would have been cool...but the thought of having Jeannie in my house serving ME is just SO MUCH COOLER!!!!

Very good point, but I think the good professor was more of a Skipper and Gilligan kind of guy....

Re: Recommendable TV-Series?

Some of the best TV series, come from the medium's "classic" or near "classic" era. These include "The Untouchables" and "Wild, Wild West" plus the little known and short lived "Kolchak: The Night Stalker". The latter is a small budget horror/sci-fi entry that ran for only half a season, yet it is still scary as heck today. That's also one of the appeals of the other two series I mentioned. They were excellent for their time and are still eminantly viewable today. Not many of the older shows--"Star Trek" excepted--can make the grade on this score.

Skunky, they answered the question as to why such a smart guy couldn't patch the holes in the ship--his nails exploded when struck, and his glue
disolved in water.
