| Re: Supressed Desire thread
Let me see... My SD is to have all Hornet liveries brought out by FM and CDC. So far I am on a good way to be there! Nice idea with the DC-3 / C-47s Ara! There aren't so many. I know of 13 different DC-3 / C-47s. So far I have two, the E058 MATS and C971 Camel Caravan to Berlin. Not, I don't have it. It is very nice I can tell you. I have seen it in a store. Did you know that there are two production batches of the Lufthansa DC-3, one with 400 and one with 200? If I would want it I could be able to get it.

| Re: Supressed Desire thread My SD is to work towards peace on earth and mutual understanding, erasing poverty and hunger... NAAAAHHHH! Really, I like Rush 104's SD (own diecast company). Or own my own private F-16 (a real one, a two-seater) to fly whenever I want. I do miss flying jets... FVD | |||||||||||||

Did C 1 produced 4 FW 190? I only know 3 (Barkhorn, Götz and Hofmann).

Yes. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. I'd even have the construction guys build shelving where the roof slants. I'm thinking a bench-type shelf running the length of the house, where the floor meets the roof. I'd paint it white and all my 1/48's would be parked wing tip to wing tip. We can wish, can't we Jim?

| Re: Supressed Desire thread I don't do post WWII jets! But those Sabres, Phantoms, Tomcats, Corsair II's and Intruders are just too appealing... | |||||||||||||

Interesting. My latest SD is to hear one of FVD's jet stories (if he cares to share with us here...)

| Suppressed Desire? What an original thread! OK. Mine goes something like this: I have that Corgi Canadian Pacific Airlines Bristol Britannia CF-CZA in the 1961 livery. It is very special to me, because a of very special event that happened to me in my formative years that turned me into an 'airplane nut'. When I was a kid about 10 -11 (1963-64), I had a chance to walk through that EXACT aircraft as it was being refueled in Prince George, B.C. To make a short story long, upon my Dad returning from a Hudson Bay Company business trip to Vancouver on it, I convinced him to speak to the Stewardess (Flight Attendant today) to see if she could show me around the airplane as it sat there -- empty. He did and this stunning looking blond in her early 20s with the snappy dark blue uniform and BOAC-like hat took me by the hand and showed me through -- telling me about the various features of the plane. It was ALSO that very aircraft -- CF-CZA! I remember because I wanted the Dinky Toy one (998) which had the same registration. There was nobody on the aircraft, so it was dead quiet with just the hum of some distant electric motor and the late afternoon April sun coming through the windows. Suffice it to say, it was like a 'living Temple to High Tech British Aviation' walking up that carpeted aisle to the cockpit. I still revere the Britannia as my all-time favourite propliner (specifically CPA). At the end, before she escorted me off the plane, she gave me one of those 'airplane candies' and a smile. I was in TOTAL 7th heaven!! (For a 10-11 year old.) OK. Now fast forward. I often think back upon that, and I gotta tell ya, I sure would have liked to have been a few years older to repeat that same experience -- with something sweeter than just an 'airplane candy' (nudge-nudge, wink-wink, say no more squire!) as a token of that tour. Now just take a look at that Stewardess . . . ![]() . . . SWEET! )JPN | |||||||||||||
