Retro looking Falcon.

I'm a sucker for pre-war color warbirds, and this one seems to fit the bill. It's like looking at the P-26 Peashooter's decendants...

Colorful F-16 represents 90 years of history

Colorful F-16 represents 90 years of history. An F-16C Fighting Falcon from the Texas Air National Guard's 111th Fighter Squadron flies with a special paint job in honor of the squadron?s 90th anniversary. All the colors and markings have specific meanings, reflecting the unit?s nine-decade history. (Photo courtesy of John Dibbs)

Re: Retro looking Falcon.

I'm not much into "showbirds", but I would be interested in that one if done (well) by someone...That looks awesome.

Cool Re: Retro looking Falcon.

It sure looks cool! I does bring the past instantly to mind. Interesting how the colours tend to do that.

Re: Retro looking Falcon.

Interesting. I'm not sure if I like it or not. From a historical perspective, yes, but from pure esthetics, not so sure...

Re: Retro looking Falcon.

The Falcon use to look like this

It was painted a little less than a year ago in time for this years Wings Over Houston Air show. I've seen it in person and I think it is good looking bird.

Keep'em flying.

Re: Retro looking Falcon.

I think that retro look is really sharp and would make an excellent piece of diecast if someone was to make it.
