Sorry Buckeye fans...

but I've got to root for Lloyd Carr and the Maze and Blue today.

..don't worry though, they'll probably end up with that tool Les Miles.

Being a lifelong UM fan you might guess where my loyalties are but being a lifelong UM fan I also know their shortcomings (especially how conservative and stubborn Lloyd is in his playcalling). I'm rooting for Lloyd to go out on a high note but have no faith that he'll call a decent game and make the proper adjustments.

Lloyd is a class person but the last couple years it seems the game has passed him by. His game plan doesn't have anything to stop mobile quarterbacks and his record against West Coast & Southern teams (read speed) is abysmal (along with the rest of the Big Ten).

Anyway, I think it's time for Lloyd to go but a year from now UM fans might be regretting it because he's run a pretty clean/winning program and the next guy could be Charlie Weiss-like.

Re: Sorry Buckeye fans...

I don't know how much is Carr. He can't play the game for them. Many of his players are bound to try to play pro but it seems they can't perform in the big games. Finish the drive and the game fellas. Hart and Henne have not been healthy and Mario could not catch the ball today at all in this cold rain. The kids have to do the job. The receivers have to get open and the QB has to hit them. Some of the run it up the middle didn't work today but when we found we could't throw options were limited.Hart is not really a run up the middle kinda guy and hurt, well he's not a run outside guy either.

Tressel is a great coach and I even like the guy which is saying alot from me. Today you have to credit the OSU defense and blame injuries I think. I say keep Carr. Hart and Henne are overrated and will have lack-luster NFL careers. Yes, I know about the records. Still...

No offense. No win!

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

You're all class Cap.

Congratulations OSU. You guys must be sad to see Lloyd going, sorta like when John Cooper was let go at OSU for us!

Parsig,
I agree with you about Carr.....during the first half of his career at UM but in the last few it just seems the game has passed him by. His assistant aren't any better. I just don't see the player development like some other programs (i.e. OSU). There also seems to be too much nepotism at UM, I mean you get rid of DeBorg (DeBoring) because of his offensive playcalling then you bring him back a couple years later?!? How about bringing in some fresh blood?

You can argue injuries, but you've got other guys who should be able to come in. Afterall UM is a cream of the crop program in terms of budgets and reputation, it's not like they're taking too many walk-ons!

Anyway, like I said, I think Carr's a good person but at best he can't motivate his players and at worst he hasn't developed the talent that's come through his program.

Again, congrats OSU. You guys played a solid game and made the plays you needed to.

Sorry, trex, just blame in on being overly exuberant. I, of course, have been a Buckeye fan since before I graduated from there, therefore, I of course lived through the Cooper years, so I feel your pain! and yes, I'll be sorry to see Lloyd go!
