I don't really believe in "signs" but...

Moved the family down to our new digs in Petaluma, CA this weekend and the date of our move just happened to coincide with the town's "big" Veteran's Day events -- a truly large parade with all sorts of military vehicles, marching bands, and veteran participation -- and a WWII warbird fly-in at the local airport! We went by the airport and there was hardly anyone there -- to see three mustangs, 4-5 eastern block WWII era birds, and three T-28s... We were allowed complete freedom to walk around the machines and I was allowed to walk around the airport, too. We got to sit on the tarmac about 30-feet away from the birds as they fired up and taxi'd out and got treated to several fast passes as the birds gave their sponsors some rides. Awesome -- talk about a welcome! We left to catch teh parade and the birds then flew in formation over the parade route for about an hour or so... I then returned to the airport to watch the departures. Great day!

My wife would say it's a sign for me that we moved to the right place -- I might, too, if I believed in such things...

Congrats to you and family, PappyB! It sure is a "good sign".

Yes, that does sound like heaven to me. My Brother and I went back to our old hometown recently where we used to hang around our small town airport as kids completely free to roam. What a blast to watch the DC-3s, DC-6s, Catalinas, Britannias and Avengers all go through their paces -- especially near forest fire season. Although the airport hasn't grown any, it is now a veritable security fortress. Talk about taking the bloom off the rose. Welcome to the 'new world order'. You are very fortunate!
