Hey Louie... How about a Curtiss P-6E Hawk or a Boeing P-12?

Those would be suuuweeeeeeeeeet to have in 1/48th! Bring them on!

P-61, A-20, A-26, F7F, F8F, TBM, SB2C. OS2U, P-39, P-36, PBY, PB4Y-1, F-8 Crusader, A-1 That should do it.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

A 1/48 Swordfish! now that would be something.

I would like to see a Curtis Hawk, it would go nicely with my Carousel P40.

I agree also with Starman, a nice P61 in 1/48 would me just fine.

What would go top of my list would be something new, anything not already made, how about some 30s American stuff?

BTW I enjoy the arm wrestling , just so long as it does not get too personal, I dont like to see any of the members fall out.

Sometimes the guys cant see the woods for the trees eh?

Oops sorry just a little off topic there , (not much ).

God Bless America.

Which one? Curtiss called all of its fighters (from P-1 to P-40) "Hawk."

I agree. From P-1 to P-36, there are some interesting fighter types that have all been overlooked by diecast makers (except the P-26 done by... I can't remember... anyway). I would love to display a P-1, P-6, P-12, P-26, and P-36 together (in 1:48), demonstrating the progression of the Pursuit type. For most of these (not sure about the P-1) there would be lots of liveries, and all colorful and interesting. Same goes with Naval types of this era.

Unfortunately, these don't get as much attention from folks, hence not as much attention given by model makers either. I am not holding much hope that these will be done; but one can dream!

Darn, I was hoping you would say P-6E. But as long as we are fantasizing here, I would love to display "two" Curtiss Hawks next to my C1 Tomahawk:

P-6E and P-36. The P-6E in the Snowy Owl livery, and the P-36 in the yellow, white, and OD camo scheme.

Thumbs up Re: Which WW II Diecast Planes Would You Buy If Offered For the First Time In 1:48 Sc

I too chose the P-61 (1), Betty (2), Yak 9 (3),! Was it not the Yak 9 that the Ruskies called the Flying Bathtub, because of all the armour around and underneath the pilot and was it not the favorite of the pilots for close ground support because of the superior protection? Some of you History Buffs can probably answer this, I only vagely remember reading or seeing it on the History Channel.

Although the Yak-9 was configured for ground attack roles it wasn't the plane you are thinking of. That happens to be the IL-2 or "Shturmovik".
