Re: Fav xmas toy

I have to say that was so long ago....Tonka Dump truck would be one and the other would be my Hotwheels racing track set up i got on Christmas morning ...I woke up before the rest of the family and saw my whole HotWheels track set all set up in the living room and i could not believe my eyes that morning ..I walked over to the start line where their were two cars sitting on the track and i released a button and they both took off down the track and raced all the way to the corner where Santa hid my Yellow Tonka Dump truck....
Boy just writting this brings back a lot of childhood Christmas memories...It was really fun as a kid and really believing in a Santa Claus..

Thumbs up Re: Fav xmas toy

Oh easy -- from about 8 or 9 onwards it was model airplanes. Airfix for 1:72 and Monogram for 1:48. (Mmmmm . . . Monogram) I was an easy kid to please. Previous to that, it would have been Dinky Toy (yup -- diecast again) airplanes. Love Christmas!

Re: Fav xmas toy

Well every year "somebody" eats the mince pies and drinks the whisky I leave out for Santa, AND I still get presents.

My favourite pressie was an Airfix Kit of the Halifax. The kit cost 7 shillings and sixpence in those days (about 37.5 pence today or 73 cents)!

It was way out of my price range because I only earnt a few cents helping local farmers out on Saturdays.
One days work = one Airfix kit level one, eg small fighter.

I remember taking all the Christmas holidays to build and paint it ,trying real hard to make it the best model I had.
I think I had the collecting bug real bad even at that young age.
Heck I had over 200 plastic kits back then.

BTW the Revell kits were dreadfull two coloured cheap plastic things. Monogram and Frog were the only other kits I bought apart from Airfix.

God Bless America.
