Ion Foot Detoxification

Okay..First let me preface the following statement with...
I don't frequent salons, I get my hair cut by a barber or I do it myself, and I find 99% of this new wave cleansing b.s. to be just that.

So, the girl I'm seeing owns a beauty salon, and I met her there tonight before going out to dinner. She was all excited about this new equipment that she received. Evidently, she saw it on Oprah (gag) and it's supposed to be the rage. So she wants to try it out before we leave. I don't like spending any more time there than is absolutely necessary, but I concede and try it out too, and I have to say it's pretty cool. I'll give my own explanation as to what it does as the literature that accompanied it read as if a bunch of crystal toting hippies wrote it, and frankly I think it's bogus anyway.

You fill a small tub with water and add sea salt to it, then you place your feet and an electrode, attached to a small electrical device, into the water and turn it on. I think that my first response was "hell no!". I couldn't get past my mental association to a radio in the bathtub out of my mind. So, she went first, because that's what a gentleman does...ladies first (especially when electrocution is a possibility). Now, allegedly this thing is supposed to remove toxins from your body thru your feet. I don't know about all that but it certainly does something. You can see streams of "stuff" coming out of your feet. I did it for thirty minutes and the water literally looked like motor oil and foam. I have a chronic foot sweat problem (TMI...I know), but my feet feel great ever since and no sweat problems. It's probably snake oil and quack science, but as a sceptic I was impressed.

If you have foot problems you might try this once and see what happens.

If your a science brain and understand what this ionization process actually is and what all of the stuff that comes out of your feet is and why I'd love to know.

Re: Ion Foot Detoxification

Don't know if there is any connection between the two, but we once had a demonstration from some company wanting to see us a VERY expensive water filtration system that put various chemicals in our water to show how "gunky" it was, and some of the stuff that appeared looked extremely like "BS." If I remember correctly, one iof the demonstrations did involve plugging some aparatus into the electric outlet.

Re: Ion Foot Detoxification

Sounds similar to cleaning silver ware when a sheet of silver foil is placed in hot water, add salt and then dip the silver ware in it. That removes any tarnishing without any scrubbing and polishing. It also works without leaving polish deposits in the hard to get to recesses. I have wondered it this process would work on the highly polished models such as Shu Shu Chuck O but I haven't risked it yet.

Re: Ion Foot Detoxification

Just one question... Are her boobs big enough for you to put up with the feet cleaning?

Ok, just kidding. I don't want to insult anyone, but I just thought it was too good a line to pass up. And you guys have a pretty good sense of humor so I figured some of you would like it.
