X2. I would love a couple of Johnson P-47s. Even better if it were an EI P-47 .

I agree if EI made it i buy it...Johnson's T-Bolt is long overdue IMHO.
I thought the show was pretty cool last night as well.....

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

According to the book the 190 was RTB I believe and out of cannon ammo when he encountered johnson... all he had left were BBs... lucky for Johnson.... The show version was a bit different from what I recall in Johnson's book -- seemed like a few liberties were taken to make the story a bit more dramatic, as if it wasn't dramatic enough....

I really wish someone would make one of Johnson's Jugs -- I think he had three different names for birds he flew, be cool to have a set. As one of the leading aces of the war it's a shocker no one's come out with a model yet

I agree with you too, Pappy! If they make Johnson's T-Bolt I hope it will the one depicted in lastnight's episode on 'Dogfights', and...and hope they'll do Egon Mayer's Fw-190 too! I'd like to have those
pair displayed together just like the painting below.

An EI version would be my number one choice, too...

Me too, of course, but unfortunately watching EI releases is like watching a glacier move, it seems. I do hope the time between their T-6 and P-47 will be less than between the P-51B and T-6...

I occasionally still look at Mark's pre-pro picture posted on this forum, and every time I have to tell myself "patience, my lad, patience."

And what about the P-61?

That would make an awesome set for Corgi to do... a "Dogfights" line, LE, with pairings like this would sell well I would think -- particularly cross-marketed with the show......

Yes I believe so too. History Channel already markets Corgi's "HC Legends" line so a "Dogfights" tv series tie-in merchandise should work quite easily. You got a perfect idea there, PappyB!

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

Just a reminder. Tonight's episode:

DOGFIGHTS OF THE HOLY LAND

The innovative, delta-winged MiG-21 arrives in the Middle East. Israel must acquire a fighter to counter the threat and soon settles on the French-built Mirage III. The Mirage and MiG-21 seemed destined for combat with each other...but only one will emerge as the preeminent delta-wing fighter of its day.

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

I've saw an episode this week with the Israeli Mirage IIIs taking on the Mig 19s and F15s vs. Mig 21s. I don't know what series I'm watching but I really enjoyed it. A few Israeli jet aces commented too. Now if only we could get decent models of these aircraft, the Mirage that is.

Hey maybe tonight they'll have one of the planes fly head on right by the camera and the screen will shake from the slipstream.

Tonight's episode of IAF aces was great. The model companies really do an injustice to the IAF (and really, the Middle East theater - if you can call it that) by not creating more than the few models done thus far. I would certainly buy a model Kfir or the IAF copy of the Mirage 5 (Nashen?). And would even buy an opponent of theirs or two.
