Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

I got a email from the History Channel and they said Dog Fights has been cancelled! I cant believe it. This series was awsome. I would have loved to see the P-51 epsiode. There were alot of Episodes they could have done like one on the F4U or the Mariannas Turkey Shoot. All I no is that the History Channel has just lost a loyal veiwer.

What a bummer......Now i'll never see that P-51 epsiode....The people running the History Channel have no clue to what they are doing... ...It is after all called History Channel right ??
What the heck does Ice Road truckers and some of the other silly stuff they have on there that has to do with History...Zip none......

The Dogfights series was ok, but wish they would make something like the old Wings series or air some of the older Wings episodes. Wings series seemed to have more of the good ole black and white footage and information. Have to admit the digital battle recreation parts of the Dogfight series got a little repetitive. I prefer real camera footage straight information and I can draw my own conclusions.

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

I think that the History Channel has been moving towards episodes that, IMHO, belong on the Discovery Channel. There's too much natural sciences (i.e., the planet, the universe, etc.) shows that may not necessarily belong on the History Channel.

And the Modern Marvels and American Eats...c'mon, give me something that I can watch for over one minute!

I did enjoy Ice Road Truckers. Probably because the snowy scenery was so nice to see.

Any specifics in the note from THC? I periodically check out the Dogfights website and there is no mention of the show being officially cancelled. In fact, all those on the message boards over at the Dogfights site are upset because THC will not give them a difinitive answer whether the show is cancelled or not. Maybe you got some advance, if disappointing, intel... Personally, I was looking forward to the list of upcoming episodes that will apparently never be televised.

I tend to agree here. The quote I mentioned from my last post did came from a reliable source. It specifically states that we'll see something in December...so we will just have to wait til
then, I suppose.

I see they have a new show coming out on finding Big Foot and Nessie. Guess it was a good thing they got rid of that aviation history nonsense to make way for it...

And next will be a Modern Marvels episode determined by the following scientific procedure: opening up random encyclopedia...pointing to random spot on page.

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

Since History Channel is ignoring the outrage and fury on their own boards, members are trying something else. With the advent of the internet, the Nielsen Ratings have become web based. Perhaps our votes on their site will have an effect. If you are interested at all, check out the following link:

You will have to create an ID to vote, but it couldn't hurt. It might even help. Please save my favorite TV show.

Hey thanks for the link. I will go ahead and give them a peace (or piece?) of my mind!
