Shawn, I guess we won't see our armor battles version of Dogfights then.

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

Dogfights was cancelled?? Wasn't that History Channel's most popular show? I guess we can add HC to the list of cable channels run by inept idiots. The Sci-Fi channel suffers from the same type of incompetence. They used to broadcast episodes of Lost in Space, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rodgers in the 25th Century, Star Trek, Space 1999, UFO, etc. Now, it's mostly infomercials, horrendous self-produced B movies, ECW Wrestling, and a few episoded of Stargate SG1 and Atlantis.

History Channel in Canada is the same. Use to have Historical shows, no you are lucky to find something other than CSI NY on. Not to sure how that relates to History, other than bringing up the ratings

And this article probably illustrates why the HC is headed for and going down in flames in a hurry...

They should call it history for people with less than an 80 IQ. Terrible the last several years.

History International is much better but not available everywhere.

It's been my observation that the History, Military and & HI Channels have all gone downhill since the spring. I hope that time will prove that I'm wrong.

In my opinion, I believe these cable channels are scamming people- if a channel is offered as part of a basic cable package (like HC, Discovery, etc), the people in charge start putting crap on those channels in the hopes that the consumer will pay for one of the upgrade packages (with HI, Discovery Science, etc) to see the decent programming.
And, I agree about the Sci-Fi Channel. They no longer show the good old shows; they completely mishandled the new Battlestar Galactica, and it seems that all they show is CRAP like Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.

Agree about HC - It is the biggiest load of dog doo going most of the time. Discovery's got some good stuff on it though. Can't agree about Si-Fi though. They have done some great work - IMHO the new Battlestar G is one to the best shows on TV, and they have just finihsed season 3 of the new Dr Who, which was great. Now the new Flash Gordon - that is a load of.....

You're right about BG, Timbo. It is one of the best shows on TV. Let me clarify my previous statement. When I say SFC completely mishandled BG, I meant in terms of not showing it in a good time slot. I can understand moving from Friday at 10 pm, but to Sunday at 10? Most of the people I know who are up past 10 on a Sunday are watching HBO.
It also seems that when BG got going, SFC seemed to support it less and less, forcing the creators to try to wrap it all up next season. BG could easily go another three or four, and stay interesting, if it was given the proper support by SFC.
But, what SFC is doing is nothing new. CBS allowed Northern Exposure to go down the tubes, and NBC allowed The Pretender to wither and die due to misguided programming decisions.
