Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

Well, no "Dogfights" episode tonight so I guess that must be it for the Season 2 finale? That really sucked as I was really looking forward to Nightfighters!!!

Maybe they skipped a week due to the premier of NFL football.....

Well that might be, but I don't give a rat's butt about the NFL anyway!

Pappy nailed it. If you go to www.history.com/minisites/dogfights and click on "Upcoming Episodes", you will see that Dogfights will be back next week with "Night Fighters". We aren't even half way through Season 2...just be patient.

Site doesn't mention Night Fighters at all on the upcoming schedule - only The Bloodiest Day on September 20th (3 weeks away ). They really need to remove their banner claiming a new episode every Thursday Night at 10 - hasn't been a new show for two weeks (and won't be one for 5 weeks)!

FYI - If you read their message boards, it looks like claims that the show is being cancelled soon are being refuted by the HC. Personally, I love the show but I doubt there will be a season 3. Just as long as I get a DVD of season 2...

Lol! It looks like they changed it again, and very recently.

I hope that you are wrong about the prospects for Season 3. I love the show as well, and there are so many incredible stories left to tell.

Also, I must refute your claim that there hasn't been a new show for a few weeks; "No room for error" aired on August 30th and "The First Dogfighters" aired on the 23rd. I am sure they will rebroadcast if you missed them...

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

I would really REALLY HATE IT if these remaining episodes don't survive! I hope these remaining episodes will make it through all the way...crossing me fingers.

NIGHT FIGHTERS
From Radar equipped Hellcats in the Pacific to modern stealth technology.

THE BLOODIEST DAY
May 10, 1972. The bloodiest day of air combat during the Vietnam war featured numerous twisting and turning dogfigts. Bob Lodge and Roger Locher pioneer electronic warfare and engage in one of the most exciting air battles of the war.

P-51 MUSTANG
In the European theater of world war II the P-51 Mustang proved itself to be the quintessential dogfighter and went on to become the most famous warbird in history.

DOGFIGHTS OF DESERT STORM
The planes have changed but the jeopardy remains the same. American fighter pilots pit F-15s against Iraqi MiG-25s and advanced MiG-29s as part of Operation Desert Storm.

BATTLE FOR THE FALKLANDS
The 1982 Argentine invasion of the Falkland Islands triggered war with the United Kingdom. Remarkable vertical take-off and landing Sea Harriers take on Mirages and A4s in some of the best dogfights of the modern age. The British establish air superiority but the Argentines sink several ships with wave-top level attacks in A4s.

SUPERSONIC
Stories of the development of jet aircraft and their subsequent introduction into combat. Includes stories of test pilots who were the first Germans and Americans to fly these aircraft and the great air battles that were fought through the years at Supersonic speed.

DEATH OF THE LUFTWAFFE
The Luftwaffe's last great offensive was launched on January 1, 1945...called Operation Bodenplatte. Oscar Boesch was a German pilot who took part. Sandy Moats and Alden Rigby were American pilots whose airbase was swarmed by fighters. After this day, the Luftwaffe was shattered as an effective fighting force.

TUSKEGEE AIRMEN
African-American pilots of the 332nd distinguished themselves as one of the most successful fighter groups of the war, despite the bigotry and prejudice they faced from their own countrymen.

Oops!!! You are correct! I did see those episodes but I forgot. It just seems like it's been longer than that...but just a week. I must be going through Dogfights withdrawl and it's affecting my memory!

By the way, now the next new episode scheduled to air is "P-51 Mustang" on September 27th. So now they have passed over two announced episodes (Night Fighters and The Bloodiest Day) and pushed out the schedule another week! This change was done just since this morning...What's going on?

They did this a lot last year: rearranging the schedule and renaming episodes on very short notice. If last season is any indicator, we will see them all eventually...

Re: "Dogfights!: Season 2 on the History Channel

I saw the WW I and Down on the Deck episodes yesterday. Am I caught up or still behind the power curve?

Looks like you are all caught up until next Thursday, Shawn.
