Re: P-61 Black Widow

What's the "reporter version"? Did they have journalists from the L.A. Times or the Boston Globe flying around in P-61s?

Re: P-61 Black Widow

I think that the P-61 is a project that would be a nice to do model but at this time it could be a very costly one for whichever company does it. The possible schemes are limited and the options are mostly in the nose art and how many outside the forum guys would buy more than one? I just don't see it happening for some time, definitely not in 2008. Nobody wants to see one made more than me but realistically it is a far off possibility. There just are too many other options for planes that will be more desirable and good sellers.

Re: P-61 Black Widow

I don't get that. I'd take 3 OD and 3 black even if the only differrence was the noseart. To say "oh there just isn't enough variation" doesn't make sense. If you like the aircraft as a collector / quasi-history buff, it wont matter. I'd like a whole series of Hellcats, but because they only come in three paint variations diecast makers wont bother with different squadrons or variations of marking because its been done once by another?
Boggles my mind.

Re: P-61 Black Widow

I guess our only hope is with Eagles making they are going to make, and maybe a version from Franklin Mint.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.
