| Re: Is A Quality Problem Emerging? I haven't found any increase in Quality Control problems with GA; at least not any more than any other diecast company experiences. It would be nice if they would reengineer the propeller for the Spitfire. It is designed to be installed backwards. I pried off the nose cone of JE-J and tried to fix it...it wasn't as easy as it looked. However, I realize that the prospect of GA correcting the propeller is quie unlikely. I sent them an e-mail with no response. | |||||||||||||

That is what i'm thinking too....like you it does not bother me that much either... But on the other hand i just saw a B-25 a few months back and his nose was lowered like Ruptured Duck....So who knows maybe it was the bomb load that had them lean back a little during the war and when their empty the nose looks lower.. jp

| Re: Is A Quality Problem Emerging?
They shouldn't have had to..I can tip my B-25 back 3/8 of an inch before it falls on its tail..If they would have just made the main struts 1/4 inch shorter (or perhaps the nose strut needs to be 1/4 inch longer!) it would have made a world of difference in appearance.(it would have levelled it off anyway) As to JP's bomb load theory, I'd have to disagree..I've probably seen thousands of pics of B-25s in my life and I doubt that all of them depicted bomb-laden aircraft (especially since many of them were post-war airshow performers).....Armour just blew it (again) To me it almost looks like it's doing a full-throttle engine run-up with its brakes firmly set...I guess I'll just have to satisfy myself with that thought...

| Re: Is A Quality Problem Emerging? I was totally unimpressed with the desert 109 I got from them. The paint is very thin and chalky on the front cowling and prop hub. I am annoyed by the gaps in the rudder on some of the models. The pilots totally suck. They are either too small, too fat, or look as if they have no neck. I am sorry I just feel that they need to fully commit to being Dragon like as far as small details are concerned. The Spitfires themselves look realy nice but then there is the rudder gap and pilot issues.......The P-51B's caught my eye but the tires on the planes have treads that seem almost tractorish too aggressive. The P-51's look the best of the lot but still I wait for the one that will make me change my mind. could do without the moveable rudder if it means solving the gap issue. I am harsh because I see alot of potential in that company and i do wish them luck. The Skyraider is on my list of wants as long as it does not have that fugly fuel bladder beneath it. | |||||||||||||

It's actually a radome to house the AN/APS-20 advanced early warning radar, although I still don't think there was ever a single-seat version of this AEW aircraft made. It just wouldn't make any sense at all.

| Re: Is A Quality Problem Emerging?
Good for you Skunky, but alas, mine does not need any excuse. It balances, but if I look at it it will drop its tail. So I can't look at my B-25, I can't even point at it... I have to use mirrors to view the dang thing.... But 'tis NIIIICE....

| Re: Is A Quality Problem Emerging? Nice set of models, Ara1. These things do take a fair amount of room, don't they (I speak from experience). I really like that Coastal Command B-24 and the RN Hellcat... FVD PS: I have the same C-47 and Stuka. Also, my B-25 ("Tondelayo") doesn't tip as easily as yours apparently does. Must be slight variations in gear positioning during assembly (?). | |||||||||||||
