Re: Swoose

Sounds like a good idea, it would be great to see a real nice piece of aviation history restored. Just curious if any of this forums membership has been through the Paul E. Garber Preservation, Restoration and Storage facility in Suitland Marland?

Re: Swoose

Would be nice to see another significant aircraft restored.

As an aside, the actress Swoozie Kurtz was named after the plane by her father Capt. Frank Kurtz who flew it home.

Went through Garber a couple of times in the 80's. Great place to visit if you are in DC area. Call ahead for tour times.

Re: Swoose

Since the Udvar-Hazy Center opened in 2003, Garber has been closed to the public.

Now that is a bumer. Went there once when I was stationed at Andrews AFB back in the mid 1980s.
