Land of the free, home of the brave!

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Happy 4th

Thought it was going to be a nice day and I ran up the Stars and Stripes at dawn only to fly the Maple leaf at half mast later in the day once I heard 6 Canadian soldiers of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) were blown up in Kandahar province in Afganistan!

Re: Happy 4th

Yeah ok go on rub it in.

Any chance you lot can figure out a way to fix a tow rope around Britain and tow us over to your side of the pond?

Failing that I shall declare war on you , dont worry , 1 minute later I shall surrender.

I shall then sit down and await the aid that will surely follow. Could I have mine in the form of diecast please?

Hey, Jim, surely President Bush would let you emigrate to the USA, as you have useful skills, and you already speak english... on second thought, no, he probably wouldn't, as your not a poor Mexican with little education and no skills.....Oh well.......

" We love this country, warts and all. We love what it has been, what it is now. And even more, we love what America can be. We're lucky God chose us to spend our lives here. In return for that, we should pay our dues. Lets plan our lives in such a way that America will not forget what we chipped in along the way"

" I owe you no apologies nor will I except those apologies made for me by others. If you dislike me, you dislike me not for what I am, but for what you are not. By my own sweat, I have created a lifestyle which I desire for all men. To the world I have shared my wealth an given my blood. Not because of obligation, but of my own free will. I have fed the hungry of the world. Many bit my hand, I used the other hand.
I defeated my enemies in battle, then pulled them up from the ashes of defeat. Once strong, they again attacked. I turned the other cheeck. Though I am strong, I have never used my strength to rule others. But do not misjudge me. I will not allow the fear of my own strength to become my weakness. If you wish to rise, I will give you a hand. But by the grace of God, and I'll be damned first! If I let you drag me down so that we may be equal."

I clicked on quote so that this post would appear again, I have heard that many times and just gets better every time I read or hear it.

Well I thought it was worth reading twice.
