Dodgers hire Joe Torre as manager

Torre was hired by Los Angeles to succeed Grady Little on Thursday, taking the job two weeks after walking away from the New York Yankees.

I heard that on the way home, but there was no mention if "Donny B" was coming with him. Any one know if he is?

Re: Dodgers hire Joe Torre as manager

Torre is negotiating to get a say in hiring of players and coaches. It's pretty much a done deal that Donnie B is heading out to LA. He was really upset about not getting the Yankees job and seems very happy to learn under Torre. (Of course, by the time I write this everything could have changed.....)

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Dodgers hire Joe Torre as manager

Having Torre as a Dodger skipper is making my fathers side of the family crazy....They are bigtime Dodgers fans...They love the idea of Joe being there..
I hope Joe gets some of the Yankees staff and players over there and sets up a great ball club...Be cool cheering on a Calif team again.....
I can see it now Yankees Vs. Dodgers in the World Series and LA beats New York and George the Yankee owner will be crying his eyes out....
Thinking what did i do wrong.....

Re: Dodgers hire Joe Torre as manager

ESPN is really beginning to hack me off.

Things that are legitimate sports news for yesterday:
  • Super Bowl in November (Colts vs. Pats)
  • Joe Torre
  • Joe Girardi
  • Where's A-Rod going
  • Do the Cavs really suck that bad.
  • Kobe drama in LA
Things that are not sports news:
  • Andy Reid's family drama ( leave these people alone )
If he leaves the team because of it then okay it's a little bit of a story, but it's not news until he does. Sports writers have been desperate to find some way to tie this story to the Eagles so that they not look like such vultures for talking about it everyday like Kennedy was just shot.
  • Don Imus returning to radio.
OMG this P.C. love fest makes me want to commit sepuku with a friggen spork.
    Let it go.
You'd think that what he said was the worst thing to happen to a sports team since Munich.
Sorry for the rant. The news today just set me off.

Re: Dodgers hire Joe Torre as manager

Well it may get worst ya know....They seem to have nothing better to talk about...
I think it's the writers that are messing with it...I heard there is a writers strike coming up soon
maybe that has something to do with it...Who knows..
Sounds like a broken record.
