| Re: What is this tail insignia This is not real it is a movie prop. There is a fire generator attached to the tail and hoses running to propane tank. This is a typical special effects set up. | |||||||||||||

Never even heard of a "P-41". Must be some "secret" Fighter from Hollywood during WWII. ![]()

Great, and now Dragon is going to make thousands of schemes for this aircraft. Don't forget the captured one with the green tarp!!!!

Yeah, I can see it now. A captured one by the Italians, the Germans, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Finnish, etc. How about one in Mexican or Brazilian colors too? Don't forget the versions with the green tarp or even a blue tarp. The blue tarp is a favorite here in Florida after the 3 hurricanes during the summer of 2004. ![]()

| Re: What is this tail insignia Wow louie you have good eyes, yes it is made for a movie I'm working on, its a P 40 that crashes. However the art department sais that the livery of the plane in the movie is genuine but they cant find what squadron or theatre of operations. This "N" could supposedly have been seen on real airplanes. | |||||||||||||

| Re: What is this tail insignia Unfortunately I can say very little. It is set in China in 1946, I'm just wondering if this tail insignia has link with maybe the flying tigers or a special squadron that fought in this theatre of operations. The director is usually very pointy on acurateness but in the case of this plane I think he just like the look. The way it works is the art dept ressearches, finds alot of different liveries and suggests them to the director. | |||||||||||||
