Talking Re: Recommending Planes For Corgi's 2008 Diecast Lineup

The Ventura and Harpoon are derivatives of the model 18 "Lodestar", while the Hudson is a variant of the smaller model 14 "Super-Electra". So, it's not possible to make all types with a single mould I'm afraid...

I remember reading that HM is planning to make the SB2C Helldiver.

I totally support the suggestions of the Sea Vixen and Venom, but would definitely drop the Scimitar and Swift, in favor of the Sea hawk !

What about the Beaufort btw ? (if GA makes the Beaufighter...)

We all have our dream models!
Going off on another tangent, if Corgi (or anybody else) gets really serious about releasing a range of Soviet aircraft, I'd like to see a decent IL-28 Beagle model. It was the nearest Soviet bloc equivalent to the Canberra, it served a long time, and it was widely exported. And that's not counting the ones that the Chinese built!

Of course, it would be nice to have some more jet bombers to complement the B-52, Vulcan, Victor, and Canberra. The B-57 bomber versions, it seems, can be made relatively easily. The B-58, Tu-16, B-47 and Mirage IV also come to mind...

I would 'second' the B-58 Hustler!! I don't think there was that many variants to make a line of models from, though, was there? The B-52 has quite a few. (The original Northrop Flying Wing would be cool too -- prop ot jet)

Yeah, it would have to be an "A" model, and in a natural metal scheme. But, there's enough individual markings to cover the minimum 6 schemes required. I'd easily buy a half dozen different Hustlers, if somebody made a model that was good and not super expensive.
An original Flying Wing would be cool, too. As would an XB-70. The only way those would be made is if a company did a range of limited run experimental/prototypes...

XB-70!! Geez -- I totally overlooked that! The pinnacle of U.S. Delta Bombers. Now, I wonder if Corgi is listening??!!??

I second that plead . . . I know a few guys in my social circle who would buy a couple of those each -- sight unseen.

Speaking of bombers, how can I forget the Bear?
