Mine are a Beaufighter in various marks, DO-17Z or Hudson
Does anyone else care to chime in .......

Would LOVE to see a Lockheed Hudson, (great choice).

Appeals to American, British, & Australian interests, with some superb colour-schemes.
A Coastal Command version, with Ex Dk Sea-Grey/Slate Grey(almost Green), with White

undersides would look lusty !
Chuck a 'Lindholme' rescue boat underneath for an A.S.R. version !!!!!!!!

Be even better, if you chuck in a (free) DVD with Tyrone Power/Betty Grable (Yank in the

R.A.F.-1941), seeing as the Hudson upstages 'em both (at the height of their fame !), & the

crashlanding on the Dutch beach, & subsequent breakout is fun !!!

I've barked on in the past, that the Do.17 Z is dreadfully overlooked & under-represented,

with not only numerous Battle of Britain versions, but also Finnish & Croatian versions to spice

up the mould.
Might even squeeze a Do.215 version out of it (if your careful with the engine nacelle/wing

area !)
Beaufighters = bring 'em on, in ALL forms !
But can't ever see 'em doing your (aforementioned) 'century-series'/Vietnam favourite/staple diet Republic F.105 ?

Re: Recommending Planes For Corgi's 2008 Diecast Lineup

I am primarily a WWII collector and agree with all the selections.

But after watching Dogfights, how about a F-8 Crusader for you jet guys?

For WWII stuff, I would like a Yak-3, Yak-9, IL-2, Curtiss Helldiver, Boeing / Stearman PT-17 "Kaydet", Fairey Firefly, Bristol Blenheim, Martin B-26 Marauder, Douglas C-47 Skytrain / Dakota, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch, Piper L-4 / O-59 / L-18 "Grasshopper"

I know some are far fetched, but I would buy them all.

Don't forget about the Lockheed Hudson glorious appearance at the end of the flim "Captains of the Clouds" starring James Cagney, Dennis Morgan and Brenda Marshall! I'd advise you to watch this classic film if you haven't already.

Spoiler: You'll see a swastika decorated Hawker Hurricane posing as a Bf 109 attacking the Hudsons!

Great selection Hornchurch. If they do a Hudson then surely a Ventura is not beyond them with all the various schemes available. With the JU-52 & Halifax running very late I feel Corgi should return to a twice yearly catalogue. IMHO they would not have to repeat the massive culling operation of this year if people focused on ordering six months ahead. Plus the excitement factor is there rather than having to wait so long for pre-ordered aircraft. On which subject I'm pretty pissed off as all the aircraft I pre-ordered with my retailer and paid full whack for are now going for 1/2 and 2/3 off.

Beaufighter
Boston/Havoc
ME-410/210
DO-17/217/215
IL-2

("Yank in the RAF" -- I love the film -- Yes to Hudson!)

If I was asked what I would like in my collection for 2008, I would add:

• Manchester (Heck, Corgi aready should have plenty of Lancaster props, front and rear turrets, landing gear and canopies)
• Boeing 299 in polished finish (You B-17 guys know what THIS is)
• Blenheim Mk 1 (Such a great 'thirties' look, even though this kite was a dog)
• C-46 (Mmmmm sweet!)
and last but not least, the biggest 'why haven't they done this before' civil aviation model:
• DC-6 (Gawd, there must be a MILLION airlines that used this -- even my fave, Canadian Pacific in the late 50s, early 60s)

That, my friends, is what i would like on my shelves for 2008. I'm not holding my breath though.

(In 2006 I got my CPA Britannia AND Golden Hawks F-86 Sabre. Thanks for reading my several emails and listening Corgi. That was a stellar year for me! )

nothing unless it can be made with the same care and attention to detail as the Swordfish, PBY, Gladiator,Lysander or B-25. Make models Corgi please not toys leave that to Mattel.
I would like a UH-16B or SA-16 Grumman Albatross ,F-101 Voodoo,F-102,or F-8 though.

A silver B-24 with "Dugan" markings like the one at AAM Duxford. I'd be happy with that alone.

Re: Recommending Planes For Corgi's 2008 Diecast Lineup

How about some more WW I aircraft to be added to their "not yet released" Albatross and Se5a. Perhaps a Fokker D VII, Sopwith Camel, and Nieuport 28.

I'm with you Cappy (but don't forget the SPAD)! All three of these in 1:48! The Nieuport 28 IMHO is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever built. I know it would be too much to ask for a P-6E and P-12, but...
