Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

I like John Wayne movies, but then I'm no member of the Film Actors Guild either.

John (Marion) Wayne was a life member of that organisation, why do you think he always had his hand on his hip

Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

I am going to play devils advocate on this one and more than likely get flamed for it, but I think folk are too tough on Pearl harbor. True it could have been done more accurately but most of the complaints I hear are not for the lack of accuracy in the film with the flying, but a complaint about the love stoory and love triangle in the film. Why is that in the film? That stuff didn't go on in the war. And comments like that. Guys they wanted to tell a story of how life was then. The p-40's were the wrong model. I know, if you would have found them P-40 B's and B-25 B's then I am sure they would use them. I would rather see the wrong version of th eplanes fly in the movie, then CG correct ones. Allso for those who say that love triangle was stupid, ask Bud Anderson how stupid it was. because it happened to him.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

IMHO, Enemy at the Gates could have been better without the love triangle.

Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

My picks for the worst:
Jarhead: Unwatchable
Thin Red Line: almost unwatchable
Heartbreak Ridge. an Hour and a half of training and 10 minutes of action.

Probably going to get crucified for this, but I didn't like Flags of our Fathers. The action scenes were great, but the story of the guys back home made it tough to get through. watched it one straight through and though interesting, made for a long movie (and I don't mean time), watched a secon time just for the action scene's and it was pretty good. They should of told the story leading up to raising the flag and the story of the battle, not what happened to the men in the picture after they went home.

Pearl Harbour. Like the action scene's and can live with the romance. Not a great movie, but not awefull. Still find it funny how one American Pilot won the Battle of Britian single handed. Watched it with my son, and that was his comment on Afflect's role with Eagle Squadron.

In defence of Flyboys. I thought the action scenes were entertaining, if not acurate. It has good watchablity. Seen it several times.

Best movie of all time Battle of Britian. Probably could be done better if made today, but I have watched it probably 50 times and could watch over and over without getting tired of it.

Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

You know a great war movie is Army of Darkness. It's medieval and totally sci-fi. But Bruce Campbell just absolutely KICKS $$$!!!!!!

Annapolis (2006) was a rather pathetic movie, but Jordana Brewster is smokin hawt so I'll give it a pass.
