Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

Hey just a cotton picking minute there!!!!

The parts filmed by my buddy in the Spitfire are real cool. BTW thats the same Spitfire that was in Malta for the Merlins over Malta event. Good old BM597 based at Duxford.

Jim, when did you return? I thought you were still travelling in the former 'colony' (that is until they went and became all 'independent' ).

Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

How I Won the War- it had John Lennon in it. Just my opinion, but I don't have much use for anything he did outside The Beatles...

Well said, that man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (opinion seconded) !

Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

"The Green Berets" was almost wholly irredeemable. The train wreck that was "Pearl Harbor" was worse though. Even with Kate Beckinsale.

I have to agree just about any war movie with Nicholas Cage in it.

The Movie "Firebirds" was actually filmed with members of my old Guard unit as extras.

I like Nicholas Cage in most movies, I really like Tommy Lee Jones in most movies, but I really can't stand to watch
parts of that movie. The flying scenes are cool, but the acting, dialog and basic plot suck.

The Army tried to do their own version of "Top Gun" and failed miserably. At least the Army has Black Hawk Down to try to redeem itself.

Re: Worst war movies you have seen.

Pearl Harbor used to be top of my worst films list (such a wasted opportunity ) but this has been replaced by Flyboys.

BHD isn't that redeeming. While there are great personal stories ( Shuggart and Gordon ), it highlights many flaws in the system then that the Army isn't too proud of. Over confidence is a Mother- when the bad guys don't play by your plan.
