Re: Most Aesthetically Pleasing Plane of World War II

I would have to say the Spitfire first and the FW190D second .

"Aficionados" would like a 'girlie plane' like the Mustang - wouldn't they ...?

Yup! Apparently they have sensitive tails , so when you stomp on them they get a little grouchy ...

I LOVE Mustangs....just feel the Spit is a little more aesthetically pleasing is all!

Re: Most Aesthetically Pleasing Plane of World War II

....the P-51 looks anorexic with that skinny fuselage.

I don't know Folgore, I've been thinkin' about this one..I don't have any Spit models to do a side-by-side comparison to, but that Spitfire fuselage looks pretty bony to me!... .....Is it really thicker than the Mustang?...You shouldn't go by GMP's example. It's wrong!..
Like Old Crow made reference to. It's on the ground that I really don't care too much for the Spitfire's appearance. That landing gear just looks.....awkward.
...and those elliptical wings that most people are so wild over, just look a bit strange to me. Like a kid drew them on.

I'd gladly go for a ride in one though....

Re: Most Aesthetically Pleasing Plane of World War II

I always found these two planes to be aesthetically pleasing. Nice lines and good proportions.
