Re: Dog fights

Love the show. I bought some of the DVDs, though not all titled "Dogfight" they are all similar.

History Channel – Dogfights, Air Ambush
History Channel – MiG Alley
History Channel – Hell over

I bought the whole dvd set of Season I on ebay for real cheap. Might want to do a search on the bay since there is alot of sellers. Can't wait for Season II to aire.

May I recommend deepdiscount.com if you are interested in the whole season. Great prices!

Re: Dog fights

I've seen a few on the History channel here too. Mig Alley, Robin Olds Air ambush, Sakai and the one I enjoyed most featured Bud Anderson and Old Crow. Great shows.

I loved the Me109 paint schemes on that one......very much like the Corgi 1/32 Gotz (Italy)

Re: Dog fights

Tank engagements might work well in that format. They are especially good at showing the viewer the perspective of the fight, something that would be very valuable in a ground situation with sometimes iffy line of sight.

Agree, and hope as I said the same crew does the CGI work.

Re: Dog fights

I think there is a couple of problems with Dogfights as it stands:
  • It just takes one side of the story, usually the victor. I think that this makes it a little un-balanced. (OK the vanquished is probably dead - so this might be a little tricky)
  • For extended fights the program is too short
  • They waste a lot of time continuously re-capping.
I think if they took it to more extended campaigns such as tank battles that would need to move to a more strategic viewpoint. Not sure how well that would work with this format.

Ooops!

I know that one. Me favorite 1/32 109! Hope it wasn't Gotz who copped it there...

Thanks bsmith! I just checked it out, much less expensive than I've seen elsewhere.
