Re: What is your favorite JAAF fighter.

My vote for the Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate. Isn't it a beauty? And it was a fine fighter too, albeit somewhat marred by quality control issues...

As far as effectiveness is concerned, the Frank and possibly, the KI-100---a re-engined Tony-- were probably the best Japanese fighters of the war. Of course, that's assuming that they maintained them properly, had reliable engines and reasonably trained pilots. Fortunately for Allied airmen, this was rarely the case.

Let me make myself clear -- your comment just simply broke me up. Man, I laughed for about 20 minutes. Right out of left field as they say.

I just knew he leaned to the left......

Re: What is your favorite JAAF fighter.

Latest tally has Ki. 45 (2 picks), Ki. 61 (2 picks), Ki. 84 (2 picks) and Ki. 100 (1 pick). I think this could possibly be an indicator why Marushin does not put out that many aircraft. With close to half of their offerings being JAAF aircraft, lack of interest may have something to do with their low production and absence of expansion with regards to their product line.
