703rd BS, 445th BG markings questions

OK so I'll be in and out this week playing Army, but I'll ask this now and see what happens. Which are the correct call letters for the 703rd BS? Is it (RN) or (IS)? Also, what is the break down for the tail letters (aircraft call sign) and the (+) and (-) symbols (also seen on the fuselage after sqdrn call letters ) within the BS? Not to mention the bar seen above the letter on the tail. Eagerly awaiting the fog to lift on this one.

Shawn,

Here's the breakdown of the squadrons:

700th
IS
Bombardment1943-1945
701st
MK
Bombardment1943-1945
702nd
WV
Bombardment1943-1945
703rd
RN
Bombardment1943-1945

From the following page, search for 445th BG for a nice overview of the Groups operations, bases, etc. This is a great site to search for preliminary information on any WWII air groups, squadrons, etc.:

Now, let's see if I can find some answers for your other questions!
