Diecast in Barcelona?

In about 8 hours I will be on a plane to beautiful Barcelona. Looking forward to seeing that great city again. We, me and my girlfriend, will be staying in an apartment with plenty of storage space, so the question is, does anyone here know if Barcelona is diecast heaven besides architectual, cultural..?

Is there a place to go to??
If not, I will climb the Sagrada Familia for a second time with a huge smile on my face!

Can we try with real bullets now?

Re: Diecast in Barcelona?

Hmmmm. . . from the resounding response, it appears there is about as much diecast heaven in Barcelona as I found in Paris (mmmmm . . . Paris) last fall. I was weak, though, I smiled walking down the Eiffel tower!!

Have a great trip!

If you can find this place, it looks awesome. I've only seen it on the web, but they have a huge selection. Check it out:

While I'm more familiar with "diecast heavens" in Madrid (my place), Barcelona has quite a lot of good model shops too! You can always have a look at the "yellow pages" directory under "modelismo" ("modelisme" in Catalan), "maquetas" ("maquetes"), coleccionismo (col·leccionisme) or even toys (juguetes, "joguines" in Catalan). A Google search using "tiendas" (shops), "modelismo", and Barcelona will give you some addresses.

Have lots of fun, and don't forget a walk down Paseo de Gracia/Passeig de Gràcia for a loooong look at Gaudi's "Pedrera". Also in "Museo Marítimo - Reales Atarazanas"/"Museo Marítim - Reials Drassanes" is a 1:1 scale galley that I believe will make a very interesting visit - a reproduction of the vessel from which Juan de Austria commanded the Christian (Holy League) fleet at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571.

Hope this helps!

Re: Diecast in Barcelona?

There are Diecast stores in Barcelona, I found at least 2 when I was there. But I stumbled upon them by chance, I could not tell you where they apart from: they are not too far from las ramblas.
