Mmmh, been there - done that...

The pic sure has a quality of its own.

But as a German national I can tell you that the Oktoberfest is way overrated.

There are many better events which are not so crowded and overpriced!

On the other hand I can see why its so interesting for guests visiting Germany.

Almost visited Berlin this year and probably will do so next year. "The" Berlin sites are quite obvious, but do you know of lesser known places to go to in (or near) Berlin? Or en route between the Netherlands and Berlin?

After the Oktoberfest with 8,5 Million visitors there are:

Cannstatter Wasen (Stuttgart) 4,2 Million visitors in 2006

Größte Kirmes am Rhein (Düsseldorf, my hometown ) 4 Million visitors in 2006

Cranger Kirmes (Herne) 4, 5 Million visitors in 2006

In or around Berlin I don't know much since I am seldom there.

When you are on the Oktoberfest you must take a look at the mugs. In most cases they are only half of it with beer and the rest of it is scum. By the price you buy for it, it's very disappointing. Although the security is looking at each table and when you don't drink enough you will get fired out of the big tents. The Girls however are nice and beautiful, but in most cases there fist question is:
Which company do you have or how much money do you have?
