I need some help with this pic...

... and I thought maybe you guys could help me !

I'm FilmFan, I'm from France and I was wondering if any of you would be able to identify this kind of seaplane :

This pic is taken from a movie, and I dont know what movie it is.

If you can tell me what film it could be, I suppose that means you're some kind of God, and I'll be eternally grateful to you.

Thanks in advance !

Re: I need some help with this pic...

Looks similar to a Grumman Goose, but it is hard to tell with the dark colors..

Re: I need some help with this pic...

This is a Grumman Goose. A model of it was made in diecast 1/48 scale by Ertl. The USCG and Navy used these and so did Texaco in the $40's and early 50's.

Grumman Goose???

Damn, you guys are quick!!!

Sorry, I can't help you much with your other question in regards to which film that Grumman Goose appeared in, but I do know this particular seaplane was
prominent in the long forgotten TV series called "Tales of the Gold Monkey" here in the USA.

Cool Re: I need some help with this pic...

Yup -- Grumman G-1 Goose alright. No doubt about it, says my 1955 USAF Aircraft Recognition for the Ground Observer manual (355-10) published by the Department of the Air Force. (I knew there was a reason I didn't chuck this thing out years ago!!)

Sorry -- can't help with the film, though.

Re: I need some help with this pic...

Thanks a lot !!!!! You're quite impressive !!!!

I've searched the Net and found this :
http://www.grummanpark.org/movies.htm

I suppose so that the movie is Forever Young, with mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis and lil'child Elijah Wood.
What do you think of this film ? Anyone saw it ?

Re: I need some help with this pic...

Forever young uses a B-25 in the movie. I think that is about the only plane I remember in that film.

Hmm, according to http://www.wdaguy.com/goose.html, there's also a Goose N87U S/N B-126 in Forever Young.

Re: I need some help with this pic...

The only thing I can think of is that it is in the background during the airshow scenes. In the film Mel Gibson is a B-25 test pilot.
