Re: A Baseball Thread

Not bad....The Tigers got a no hitter tonight ....they beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4 - 0.
Justin Verlander threw the first no-hitter for the Tigers since Jack Morris.

George Preddy was......Just the greatest fighter pilot who ever squinted through a gunsight.
He was a complete fighter pilot.......Colonel John C. Meyer Deputy Commander of the 352nd.

I'm from Australia and most the games we get here on Fox seem to be the Yankees or the Red Sox ... So i picked the Red Sox to be my team and have been watching
them a bit this year. I'm still find myself scratching my head over a few things as i watch the games but i'm getting the hang of it.

BTW - whats going to happen when Bonds breaks Hank Aarons record? Will he be booed & jeered ?

Re: A Baseball Thread

Florida Marlins fan here(yeah I know you can count us on one hand)

I want to thank the Marlins for forcing the Red Sox to take Mike Lowell along with Josh Beckett....Talk about an awesome two-fer-one deal!...In fact there were times last season when I thought for sure they must have meant it the other way around...

Hey, how about that! Can you believe I missed it.

Been sick lately and last night it peaked. I stopped watching in the 6th. Great!

The last one I rememberseeing was Nolan Ryan when I was in high school. I think it was his 6th. Maybe??

Don't forget the targets are my airfields, Leigh-Mallory, and you're not getting fifty, you're not even getting ten.

Why single out Bonds. With the attitiude of both MLB, the owners and the players union, its pretty obvious that sterioids have been rampant thoughout the game.

Will he be booed - If he does it in SF, I don't think so, but there will always be a cloud over it. You still have to hit that ball just right to het a homer, and Steroids arn't going to make that happen, you still need the tallent to do that.

Ooops!

Re: A Baseball Thread

Why single out Bonds

Because he is so easy to despise.

Re: A Baseball Thread

Timbo,
Bonds is singled out due to the fact that he acts as if he stands SO FAR above the rest of the game. If he were a little more humble, he'd be well loved.

Lzybns,
Lake Elsinore has a beautiful stadium. I've been out there for a few Storms games, and even 3-4 during the short lived California Fall League. You are very lucky to live so close. (I presume you live close by, if you just came from a game.)

Anything for a weird life.

Too bad for you Parsig....It may be years before we see another Tiger pitcher do it again.
