It's called a " KILT "! But did you realise that Skunky's grannie was a wild Highland woman, so that gives him the right to wear the kilt too! Huh, a skunk in a kilt. Now that could be a major attraction at Disneyland!

Wow, Tophat, I guess that makes you a Scot too! You now have the same rights as Skunky. The bus for disneyland leaves in 10 minutes!

Mrs MoMo and I travel to Dumfries now and again. The town is set in athe beautiful border lands between England and Scotland. Anyone who comes from that part of the world can claim that their forefathers have spent the last thousand years in continual warfare. The Border "Rievers" raided across the border for generations. When there was no war there, they went abroad and fought for Sweden, France, Holland, Germany or any other place where they could seek employment. They just loved to fight ( and drink! ).

You are now a kilted Yank!

I've been known to wear a kilt in the ancestral tartan on occasion. Great fun at parties!

Re: Most Overrated Aircraft of WWII

I knew you were going to ask me that! Shoot, I can't remember the name...so now I'll have to go ask my mom since she knows all that info.

And the other part of my family came from the Palatinate area of Germany. Legend has it that my ancestors pirated the river traffic on the Rhine. Don't know if that's true or not, but it sounds good.

Now you know why I'm such an a**hole. It's all my ancestors' fault!

Don't blame the genes when you're wearin' a tophat!

When you find out, post on " Flower Arranging..." This thread has been hijacked by German pirates and needs to go back to over-rated aircraft or Gort will destroy us with his atomic eye-beams!

I don't know, German River pirates and Scots Border Cattle Rustlers...what a mixture!

...and one lone Frenchman for balance.

You heard the joke about the French surplus rifles? Never fired and only dropped once....

Yep, back to the flowers lest the powers that be zap us!

Re: Most Overrated Aircraft of WWII

Developement and obsolence worked hand and glove in the world of aviation in the 30s. War was an inconceivable notion and aircraft development consisted of commercial pursuits and Atlantic air racing, mail bagging across the USA etc. etc. Whatever was on the drawing board at the time was the latest concept of it's time.Inventory being what it was at the outbreak of WWII left us with little else to defend ourselves. There are no underrated aircraft or overrated aircraft. Every design of it's time was accepted for one reason or another. Practicality must be thrown into the equation. Hence, they all looked good on the drawing board, leaving us very little to defend us against the Germans and Japanese. Overrated/ underrated....Bah Humbug!.
