Ebay Luck

Just thought I would share my lucky win on ebay the other day. Normally I get my butt kicked on the bay, just too tight with the purse strings I guess. Anyway, the other night I'm looking around and spy a Corgi RAF B-25 for a decent price, displayed, but near mint. So I slap down a max bid with about 10 hours to go on the auction, knowing full well there is no way I'd win it. The auction was scheduled to end the next morning, and I knew I woudln't be able to check on the item because I had a crazy schedule at work that day. Well, I get a break in my hectic day around 2 in the afternoon, and acutally had forgot about the auction, went out to check, and low and behold I won the darn thing! Got it for $46 shipped! I'm pretty happy with that, and thought I would share...I just wish my wife could understand the excitement of this win! Anyway, I'm happy to add this excellent piece to the collection!

Re: Ebay Luck

Isn't it nice when that happens? I just got a Corgi Yankee Doodle B-17 for $35 the same way. Never thought I'd win and wasn't around the computer the day the auction ended.

Re: Ebay Luck

Congrats on that deal!

I think I can top it:

How does a FM/A P-51 hand-signed by Bud Anderson including box, display stand and paperwork for just $25 shipped grab you?

After winning that auction I almost laughed my a... off!

That's what I REALLY like about the bay! (still laughing when I think about it)

Re: Ebay Luck

Great Grab. The only way to bid on eBay is wait till the very end of the auction and pop in your top dollar bid. Never bid early. If your going to be away from you PC when the item that your wanting is going to end then get Auction sniper. It will place your eBay bid for you at the last second. Their fee's are very reasonable also. For example, you win an auction using Auction Sniper for $100, they'll charge you $1.00.
I've been using it for years and it works great.
Here's the site.

Re: Ebay Luck

Thanks for the link RJ, I have sniped a few times myself....on this one, however, I knew I couldn't be at the computer near the end of the auction, so I just threw in a max bid and forgot about it, but it had a happy (and rare) ending, I actually won it!

Re: Ebay Luck

I know just how you feel Easy8,

Its great when its unexpected like that. I had similar experience with a 1/32 Hurricane, I bid and thought I would have no chance at that price but as with your experience , Lo and Behold A winner.

BTW it arrived this morning,
