| Re: 801st (provisional) bomb group Well...the sheet shows it to be a D, so this specific airframe wouldn't have the turret. Also, reading the list of modifications made to this plane it looks like most of the guns were removed, other than the upper turret and tail. The ball turret was removed and a hatch put in its place and this hatch was used to drop special agents. The bomb racks were replaced with British bomb racks so they could carry re-supply canisters. Of course this would be a non-issue since the bomb bay doesn't open on the Corgi B-24s. All in all this wouldn't be that difficult of a conversion, just a lot of paint! | |||||||||||||

| Re: 801st (provisional) bomb group Yeah I read about most of those, but recall a pic of one of the later ones that kept the nose turret. There also was one pic that showed the turret removed and a new green house put in its place. Very fugly. | |||||||||||||
