Re: Who among us plays with model trains as well?

Took in the Marshall Texas train show this weekend. Kind of surprised at how few people there were selling this year, last two years there were a decent amount of seller present. My father (Passed away this June and greatly missed) and I had a larger selection of Lionel for sale last year than the total I saw present show. The local clubs has some nice layouts on display, but I know of at least 8 regural dealers that did not attend this year. Still it was allot of fun, but the pickings were very slim. Tacked on a few photos I took at the show (Marshall is a fairly small east Texas town).

Did the NASCAR race have anything to do with the poor attendance?

Not sure if that had an effect on show, some of the dealers that were at previous shows were from down in Houston. Have another train show this month that is over in Shreveport, really hoping that this one has a better showing. After that next show on my calender is not until January and that is down in Waco Texas.

Love looking at railroad set ups, but I'm glad I sold off first my HO then my N gauge some years ago. Seeing pix starting to get me itching again, Damn it.

Re: Who among us plays with model trains as well?

100m from were I live there is a complex were tradeshows are held. About two weeks ago the yearly model train fair was held nut unfortunately I was unable to go...
It is quite huge. A hall filed with manufacturers and retailers and usually two halls with model train layouts and private sellers (semi professional tho...).

Especially the lay-outs can be cool. I think it was last year when there was this German guy who had scenes of the exact same location with different dates. It showed the development of a railway station through the years. Starting with a simpel one-track stop developing to a bigger into a huge station ending up destroyed in '45.

Site of the fair: International model railway event about modeltrains, model railways, modelling and railroading. La plus grande exposition europeenne de modeles reduits de trains. Die grösste Modelleisenbahnschau Europas.

Can we try with real bullets now?

Thumbs up Re: Who among us plays with model trains as well?

Yea, just read my favorite Christmas gift. From my first small set I went to a 15' X 9' table with a circus and three different trains coming into town with cage cars and all types of loaded animals etc. for the circus. Great Set.
