I have one here that is just a pure brain teaser of a question. Other than the Daimler-Benz DB600 series, what other different engine types were used on Messerschmitt Bf 109?

I'm going to try this without consulting any references. I believe RR Merlins were used in the 109s built for Spain by Hispano-Suiza; and I believe the Czech built Avias used Junkers Jumo engines.

It kind of looks like a bad combination between a Mitubishi A5M Claude and Mitsubishi Ki 15 Babs (Cowling area Babs with other parts Claude)
So first hack would be that it is probably one Mitusbishis earlier projects. Must dig further.
