Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

Here is another tail assembly that should not be to hard to match to the plane. (Jim should know this one by heart.)

He he, thanks guys, I am looking through my books to see if I can also find the unit from the tail number.

I think you two guys have given the game away.

edit, it could be an F model from a training unit.
Interesting, still working on it.
The shadow thrown by the tail makes it a touch difficult to pin down.
Don,t think its an N.

Well , a quick look through the records was no help but it sure is a P40 I thought I might just have been able to ID the particular aircraft but I would have to plough through hundreds of photos so I will stick with my hunch that Its an F from a training unit.
Hope I don't end up with egg on my face.

btw I found a whole bunch of colourful schemes for those P36 models.

God Bless America.

Yes, it is officially confirmed that Jim is our P-40 connoisseur. By rudder alone he correctly determined that it was a F model P-40.

Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

This might be a little bit of a challenge. What aircraft had this tail assembly?

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

Bit of an odd looking shot, but should not be to hard for someone to identify.
