Definetly Gloster, nosewheel is from a Meteor, Canopy - Meteor............Hmmm

Good call on this one and it does look like a bit of a patch work job. I have also seen it referred to as the Gloster A.1 Ace.

It appears to be the famous "Pursuit" model with 12 cylinder engine. Would the pilot be a young Skunky perhaps? If so, you were a handsome lad....wonder what happened!

Nice try Cappy but no, it isn't me...It's actually a young nugget, TopHat after attempting to make his first simulated carrier arrested landing at NAS Glenview, IL...He missed it by just a little, but the farmer wasn't mad and everyone enjoyed a hearty laugh...The ship was a Honduran-built Impotentia T-5000 with a 15hp Chlomidia engine and manually operated retractable landing gear. It's now on permanent display at the United States Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola.

Looks like the Japanese Tachikawa Ki-54.
