Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

This one should be super easy (Ok so its not the whole plane).

You grabbed my attention with this photo CC.
May I ask what museum houses the 219, plus I see an Arado and a FW190 in the background.
It looks like a great place to visit.

God Bless America.

Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

I hope that the IXO factory takes notice of the uppersurface mottling on this HE-219.

Correct answer!!! Nice looking paint scheme on this one.

This is one of the National Air and Space Museum aircraft, not sure if it is still at the Garber facility.

Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

Here's an unusual cockpit to ID.

Control wheel looks similar to that on the P-38, but control column is different. I can rule out the P-38, P-61and F7F, so thinking this one may not be a fighter. Definitely a twin engine aircraft and possibly a bomber. Have to do a little more digging.

Aircraft that might match up would possibly be the Martin Baltimore , Martin Maryland or the Douglas Havoc/Boston light bombers. I have seen a Havoc in FlyPast under restoration, and pretty sure there are none of the Baltimores or Marylands left. Have to go with the Douglas Havoc/Boston.

Correct call. It's an A-20. Not much room in there for the co-pilot.

Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

It's at the Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles airport. The wings and undercarriage should be married up to it by the end of the year. It doesn't have the antennas though. Not sure if they'll be fabricated or not.

Thank you for the info CC.
